Hog Hollow Horse Trails
Plettenberg Bay, Garden Route in South Africa
The Plettenberg Bay Tourism, in partnership with the Hog Hollow Horse Trails which is situated at the Hog Hollow Country Lodge, in South Africa’s Garden Route has unveiled new ‘slackpacking’ trails, which provide travellers with the great opportunity to explore the Garden Route’s marine, wildlife and birds as well as geology, indigenous forests and wine estates in the region.
Three options are available to guests visiting the Hog Hollow Horse Trails. These include a one hour farm trail during which magnificent views over the mountains and forest can be enjoyed, a two hour forest trail with wildlife, or a three hour tour on horseback to attractions in the area.
“We cleared these trails as part of a community upliftment project, re-discovering 150-year-old wood cutters trails, and in the process accessing beautiful indigenous forest,” says Hog Hollow Horse Trails Owner, Debbi Fermor.
Fermor adds that guests have the opportunity to go into the ancient and pristine Tsitsikamma Rain Forest. “It’s unbelievably beautiful in the forest and riding through it on a horse is one of the most memorable experiences one could have.”
Come and explore the lush and scenic Garden Route on horse back along the magnificent coastline with Hog Hollow!
