South Africa’s most anticipated movie, “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom” hit cinema screens throughout the country on 28 November 2013. The film has received rave reviews from a diverse range of critics in South Africa.
You Magazine said, ‘this is one movie all South Africans should see’; SABC Radio called the film ‘South Africa’s Gandhi… a gem with powerful performances’; Cape Talk said that the film was ‘well portrayed’; the film focused website, Spling said the film is ‘grand, epic and sprawling’; True Love declared, ‘the film is amazing and a true depiction of the times… breath taking… emotionally moving’.
The Sandton Chronicle stated, ‘It’s a beautiful story, beautifully told’; Mango Juice Magazine said the film is ‘Brilliant, powerful, poignant, emotional”; The Times said ‘Fabulous… the leads were superb’; the arts website, Arts Comments said, ‘This movie will go on to become a true classic’; Salon Privé Magazine said, ‘The film is a true masterpiece!’;

The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) announced that TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend the Royal Film Performance of Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom. The event will be the UK and European premiere of the film and will take place in London on Thursday, 5th December at the Odeon Leicester Square.
The Royal Film Performance is the principal fundraising event of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF), the trade charity for the UK film and television industries with Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II as patron.
