Author of bestseller “BRAAI”, Chef Reuben Riffel is set to share the kitchen at the One&Only Cape Town Resort in South Africa with master braaier and über chef Bertus Basson on 10 September 2014.  As part of the One&Only Cape Town Resort “Reuben Invites” collaborative chef series, the interesting Riffel-Basson evening along with head sommelier Luvo Ntezo and master of ceremonies Aubrey Ngcungama is guaranteed to be quite the occasion!

Bertus Basson, who is the chef patron of the Overture Restaurant on Hidden Valley Wine Farm, and Reuben Riffel will be combining to create an unforgettable menu showcasing Bertus’s passion for unusual cuts of meat and his beloved smoking machine. Overture has been an ‘Eat Out’ Top 10 winner for the past 5 consecutive years and is also the recipient of 3-stars of the prestigious Rossouw’s Restaurant Guide for the past 4 consecutive years. Expect plenty of interesting, unusual and always delicious food served with lots of chat and amusing stories on the side!

The evening begins with a tasting of Hidden Valley’s Wines in One&Only Cape Town’s striking Vista Bar & Lounge before guests move through to Reuben’s restaurant to feast on a superb 4-course menu prepared jointly by Reuben and Bertus. Listen to them explain their culinary roots and influences and enjoy the tales and anecdotes of these top chefs.

The evening is priced at R 345.00 per person for the 4-course dinner, including the pre-dinner wine tasting and canapés and excluding any beverages with the meal. Bertus and Reuben will suggest wines to be paired with each dish, although this is not included in the price, allowing you the freedom to select your favourite wines to accompany each gastronomic dish.
