Introducing Parys & Surrounds

In an arc to the north and west of Vredefort and Parys, one can find the hills which are known as the Vredefort Dome.  The Vredefort Dome is South Africa’s seventh World Heritage Site.  It is recognised as the largest and oldest meteorite impact site in the world.  Visitors have the opportunity to hike in the rugged mountains surrounding the Vredefort Dome, see the San paintings, and abseil or rock climb in this magnificent region of the Free State.
