Introducing White River

The small holiday and farming town of White River nestles north of Nelspruit in the Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.  White River lies in close proximity to the border of the Kruger National Park.  Tropical fruits such as mangos and bananas, citrus fruits, vegetables, flowers, tobacco and timber are produced in this region of South Africa.Lord Milner, who was the administrator of the defeated Transvaal, demarcated land on the 'Emansimhlope' to demobilised Boer and British Anglo-Boer War soldiers. 

'Emansimhlope' is a tributary of the Crocodile River whose name translates from the Swazi language as 'white waters'.  White River was named after the river that runs through the town.White River and its beautiful scenic surroundings, with three irrigation dams and a number of forests, has become a popular holiday destination for those looking to enjoy the splendour of the Crocodile River Valley.  The town of White River is known for its arts and crafts.
