Introducing Piggs peak
One of the greatest attractions in the north-western Hhohho region of Swaziland is the famous Piggs Peak Casino. It is a well known destination which attracts visitors from across the globe. Every year, the Piggs Peak Casino hosts the All Africa Poker Tournament which is the world’s “richest” poker tournament.
Piggs Peak in Swaziland was named after William Peak. Located in the northern parts of Swaziland, in the Hhohho district, Piggs Peak is famously known for its gold mining during the year 1889 and 1957. Not only is this town known for its gold, there is also plenty of accommodation with luxurious hotels and casinos, lodges and guest houses.
The Orion Piggs Peak hotel is set on the main route between the Kruger National Park of South Africa and Mbabane. The Maguga dam is one of the largest dams in the Kingdom of Swaziland.
Visitors have the opportunity to explore the historic Bulembu village which is situated 19km west of Piggs Peak, next to the now non-operational asbestos mine and to take a look at Emlembe which is the highest Mountain in Swaziland. Devils Bridge is a rock structure on the slopes of Emlembe Mountain which forms an ordinary crossing between South Africa and Swaziland.
