Introducing Menlo Park

Once at the very eastern edge of Pretoria, Menlo Park is now sandwiched between Lynnwood, Waterkloof and Brooklyn. It remains a middle to upper class suburb in the 'old east', comprised of big walled properties, residential estates, a large shopping centre, Menlyn Park, and one of South Africa's top high schools, Menlo Park High.

Perhaps Menlo Park's greatest claim to fame is its past resident, renowned abstract artist Walter Battiss. Battiss lived in Menlo Park whilst teaching at Pretoria Boys High and then at Unisa.

To reach Menlo Park, travel on the N1 northbound and take the M11 Atterbury Road exit.
