Introducing Livingstone
The Southern Province in Zambia is home to the highest proportion of commercial farmland of any Zambian province. The north-east of this Zambian province includes the Kafue National Park as well as the Kafue Flats which are a vast floodplain and an important wildlife habitat principally for Lechwe, aquatic and other birds. Over 400 bird species have been recorded at the small Lochinvar National Park which has become famous among bird-watchers throughout the world.
The Lake Kariba is an important site for fish and aquatic animals and birds. The mighty Zambezi River, the Victoria Falls National Park, the magnificent Batoka Gorge, and the Kariba Gorge with the Kafue Gorge are located towards the east. The numerous gorges are home to many raptors, reptiles and small mammals.
