Attractions in Madagascar
 
Antananarivo
 
Madagascar's capital city Antananarivo is beautifully set in a slanting valley near the island's center.  Antananarivo awaits the traveller with its bustling streets, colorful flower markets and botanical as well as zoological gardens where rare and exotic plant and animal species can be seen.  The most popular hotels in Antananarivo include the Hilton Madagascar, the Hotel Colbert, the Ibis Antananarivo and the De France Hotel.
 
Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
 
This National Park is the home of Indris which is the largest species in the Lemur family. The Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is home to beautiful birds, orchids and other species.
 
Antsirabe
 
Antsirabe is famous for its volcanic carter lakes and old thermal spas which are worth a visit. Antsirabe in Madagascar has stone cutting facilities known as lapidaries.
 
Canal Des Pangalanes
 
The Canal Des Pangalanes in Madagascar was constructed by the French colonists.   The Canal Des Pangalanes connects several lakes and rivers along the eastern shore of Madagascar. The Canal site also features lush vegetation which include vanilla plants, coconut and cinnamon trees.
 
Masoala Peninsula
 
Madagascar's Masoala peninsula is home to magnificent and exotic rain forests. Most parts of this peninsula are protected by the Masoala National Park.
 
Tulear
 
Tulear is a port town offering tourists excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities.  A small cultural museum is located in Tulear as well.
 
Toamasina
 
Toamasina is another port town in Madagascar which features magnificent old colonial buildings and old ruins. This region of Madagascar was a former enclave for pirates.
 
Nosy Be
 
The popular Nosy Be island of Madagascar is a beautiful beach resort area with sandy beaches and exotic scenery.  It is here where visitors can enjoy great diving and snorkeling.
