The Central Region of Lesotho comprises 3 districts which are the Thaba-Tseka District, the Mafeteng District and the Qacha's Nek District.
 
Thaba-Tseka District, Lesotho
 
The Thaba-Tseka district in Lesotho covers a region of about 4,270 km² and is home to approximately 180,000 people.  Thaba-Tseka is also the name of the district's capital which is the only town in this district.  In the east, Thaba-Tseka borders on South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal Province.
 
Within Lesotho, the Thaba-Tseka district borders on the following districts:
  • Mokhotlong District - northeast
  • Leribe District to the north
  • Berea District to the northwest
  • Maseru District to the west
  • Mohale's Hoek District to the southwest
  • Qacha's Nek District to the south.
Mafeteng District, Lesotho
 
Lesotho's Mafeteng district stretches over an area of 2,119 km² is home to about 400,000 inhabitants. Mafeteng is the capital as well as the only town in this district.  In the west, Mafeteng borders on South Africa's Free State Province. 
 
Within Lesotho, the Mafeteng District borders following districts:
  • Maseru District to the northeast
  • Mohale's Hoek District to the southeast.
Qacha's Nek District, Lesotho
 
Qacha's Nek is a district of Lesotho with an area of 2,349 km².   The Qacha's Nek district has an approximat population of 140,000. Qacha's Nek is the capital and the only town in this district of Lesotho.  In the south, Qacha's Nek borders on South Africa's Eastern Cape Province and it shares a fairly short border with the KwaZulu-Natal Province in the east. 
 
Within Lesotho,  the Qacha's Nek district borders on the following districts:
  • Quthing District to the southwest
  • Mohale's Hoek District to the west
  • Thaba-Tseka District to the north.
