From Cape Town to De Hoop Nature Reserve main gate (recommended scenic route approx 3.5 hours):
Take the N2 to Caledon. From Caledon drive on the R316 through Napier to Bredasdorp. From Bredasdorp take the R319 to Swellendam out of town for about 6kms and then turn right - signposted De Hoop / Malgas / Infanta. Travel on the gravel road for 33kms until you see the sign to the right - BUCHU BUSHCAMP / DE HOOP. It is 7km from this turn-off point to the Main Gate of the Park.

Alternative Route from Cape Town to Morukuru Beach Lodge approx 3.5 hours):
Travel on the N2 from Cape Town to Swellendam, past Caledon and Riviersonderend. Pass the Bredasdorp turn off and look out for Spitskop turnoff on your right (it is 13km before Swellendam). Turn right onto the Spitskop road and travel for approx 30km until you get to a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction signed Malgas / Infanta and travel approx 2km before you turn right onto the De Hoop Pad signed BUCHU BUSHCAMP / DE HOOP. It is 7km from this turn-off point to the Main Gate of the Park.

From George / Swellendam to De Hoop Nature Reserve main gate (approx 3.5 hours from George):
Travel on the N2 from George in the direction of CapeTown. 13km past Swellendam turn left onto the gravel road, signed Spitskop. Continue on this road for about 30km until you reach a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction signed Malgas / Infanta and travel approx 2km before you turn right onto the De Hoop Pad signed BUCHU BUSHCAMP / DE HOOP. It is 7km from this turn-off point to the Main Gate of the Park.

From the main gate of the De Hoop Nature Reserve to Morukuru Beach Lodge (approx. 30 minutes):
Once you arrive at the main gate, please phone Morukuru Beach Lodge so they will expect your arrival in the next half an hour.
From the main gate, you follow the road into the park, passing the turn-off to De Hoop Collection on your right after 4km. Keep going straight for another 3,5km, follow the signs to Morukuru Beach Lodge and turn left at the T-junction.
Follow that road for 7km all the way to the end and you will arrive at the parking just behind Morukuru Beach Lodge. Here you will find a gate leading to Morukuru Beach Lodge. Press the buzzer and we will open the gate so you can drive up to Morukuru Beach Lodge.
