Dining

The Lodge has no set meal times the day starts when you decide. Both breakfast and lunch are overlooking the beach on the main deck, while dinner is occasionally served on the beach. Beautiful quality meals are presented, making use of locally procured supplies wherever possible. Aside from the main bar area, there is also an island bar in the swimming pool, where guests can enjoy cocktails while admiring the exquisite aquatic surrounds.

The Lodge has a total of twelve luxuriously appointed tented chalets, of which two beach villas have double rooms (accommodating four adults).

Directions

The Lodge is situated on the southern coastline of Mozambique within the boundaries of the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary.

Scheduled daily flights to the Vilanculos International Airport in Mozambique on Pelican Air in pressurized turboprop aircraft take 2 hours from the OR Tambo Johannesburg International Airport (JIA) (International Departures counter 55) and one and a half hours from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP).

Chartered flights can be arranged to the Dugong Beach Lodge:

- runway: 03/21
- length: 780 meters (hardened calcrete) Flat.
- elevation: 25ft below sea level.

Boat transfers from the Vilanculos International Airport to the Lodge take between 30 to 40 minutes (depending on the tide).

Vilanculos is approximately 700km north of Maputo.
The trip from the Vilanculos Airport to the boat takes approximately 15 min and guests are transported in a 14-seater minibus.
The boat transfer to the Lodge takes approximately 40 minutes.
Transfers must be booked at the time of making a reservation and are charged separately.
It must be noted that, at times, there may be a delay in the transfer to the Lodge should passengers be arriving at different times on different airlines.
