Room Types
The five star Gorge Private Game Lodge & Spa in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, has been designed for guests being able to experience the ever changing views of the indigenous surroundings of the magnificent gorge. The Lodge has been built with minimal disruption of the indigenous fauna and flora.
The chalets provide an unforgettable experience for guests who are pampered with sheer luxury while the surrounding natural splendour invites them to feast their eyes. There are five spacious chalets each of which measures 81 square meters in size. These luxury chalets are all built on 14 meter columns elevated 3 to 4 meters off the ground to minimise the impact on the environment.
The main structure and dome roof is made out of concrete while the walls of the chalets have a natural rock cladding to blend with the sandstone cliffs of the gorge. The interior decor combines modern state-of-the-art gadgets with a touch of Africa.
Two thirds of each luxury chalet at The Gorge Private Game Lodge features double volume glass creating an unobstructed view of the Mzimkulwana River and the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve. Each chalet provides its own indoor and private outdoor shower overlooking the gorge. The splendid view hundreds of meters below could also be enjoyed from the large quartz stone bath while sipping a martini.
All chalets at The Gorge Private Game Lodge are fitted with Caesarstone quartz surface vanities and mahogany furnishings in the large dressing rooms. Each chalet is fitted with an Eco Aire air conditioner, mini bar and a 74cm LCD TV with a full bouquet of DSTV channels. A wide selection of movies is available on the automated/rotating viewing channel.

The intimate open plan restaurant at The Gorge Private Game Lodge offers beautiful views of the gorge. It is the place to relax and enjoy a pre-dinner drink with the owners or fellow guests. Breakfast and healthy lunches are also served here.
Guests are welcome to feed their taste buds and indulge their palate while watching the signature chef as he prepares delectable cuisine. Guests may also join in and learn from the master himself. Alternatively, guests may dine at one of the Lodge's themed boma venues. Dinner may also be served in the room.

This application gently exfoliates lifeless skin cells with a natural walnut and marula shell grain whilst hydrating living skin. Guests may complete their spa experience with a full body Swedish massage and a nourishing, anti-oxidant body cocktail.
Hot Stone Sensation / 90 minutes
The Hot Stone Sensation is a gentle, kind and warm stone massage which opens the heart. Warm ginger and cinnamon balm is applied to comfort while the heat of the stones deeply relaxes the muscles and mind.
5 Star Massage / 90 minutes
The Hot stone back massage deeply relaxes the muscles, Intonga stick massage on the back of the legs, Swedish body massage on the front of the body and end with an Indian head massage.

About 255 bird species are home in the gorge region. The Cape Vulture has populated the Oribi Gorge in KwaZulu-Natal for several years and is seen daily from the balconies of the chalets. The Fish Eagle and Egyptian Geese can be spotted at the main dam of the reserve. The feeding of the Cape Vultures can be arranged by appointment.

Location
The Gorge Private Game Lodge & Spa has been carefully positioned to overlook 550ha of Oribi Flats prime land on the escarpment of the Oribi Nature Reserve with kilometers of awe-inspiring views of the world famous Oribi Gorge. The original farm has been the pride and joy of the Classen family since 1966. The area is safe and malaria free.
Directions from Durban:
Travel on the N2 south towards Port Shepstone (aprox 60 min drive)
Take the off ramp at the Oribi Toll Plaza (keep left)
Turn right at the top of the off ramp and travel on the N2 towards Harding/Kokstad for 10km
Turn right at the sign that reads Oribi Flats East
Then drive for 22km past the Dwala Cement/Lime factory and St Martins orphanage
Proceed down the hill and turn left onto the district road D251 (it is a gravel road)
Continue on this road for 2km and turn left into The Gorge.
OR (scenic route)
Travel on the N2 south towards Port Shepstone (aprox 60 min drive)

Travel for a further 20km from the Oribi Flats West turn-off
Turn left at the sign that reads Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve
Then drive through the scenic gorge over the Mzimkulwana River for 9km
At the T-junction turn left and continue pass St Martins Orphanage
Proceed down the hill and turn left onto the district road D251 (it is a gravel road)
Continue on this road for 2km and turn left into The Gorge.
