Bicycle Chapmans Peak & Bo-Kaap Walk Tour Overview
The tour starts at daybreak and transfers to the starting point on Signal Hill which is above Cape Town city on the slopes of Table Mountain. Cyclists meander down the mountainside, past the imposing Lions Head, with magnificent views of Cape Town.
The tour winds its way through the upmarket seaside suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay which are home to Cape Town’s prime real estate and a selection of magnificent white sandy beaches. Guests make their way along the stunning Atlantic Seaboard, through the village of Bakoven, nestled at the foot of the famous Twelve Apostles.
They transfer over the mountains to the lower slopes of renowned Chapman's Peak which is one of Africa's most beautiful mountain passes. After an invigorating cycle up the pass, the tour breaks for a gourmet picnic lunch with fantastic views of the sky and hues of the blue and green ocean.
Refreshed after lunch, passengers shuttle back into town past the rolling Constantia vineyards, before enjoying a guided walk of the Bo-Kaap. Travellers learn about the history, hardships, and accomplishments of the Cape Moslem community.
The cycle and walk tour stops at a local's residence to sample traditional Cape Malay cuisines, such as samoosas, bobotie (curried mince with egg custard) and much more while learning about the fascinating history of the area. This way of exploration is a unique and exclusive experience which will be remembered for a long time.
