Dining at the Nuarro Lodge

The restaurant with its adjoining cocktail bar at the Nuarro Lodge in Mozambique is on the west end of the beach. This high-class venue provides beautiful views over the Nanatha Island Rock and the bay. A creative menu offers fresh seafood dishes, sumptuous salads and a variety of traditional and international cuisine.

Water sports
  • Diving: Offering direct access to the sea and the proximity of the continental shelf, make the Nuarro Lodge a perfect diving location. The Marine Activity Center is a fully equipped PADI Center, which caters to divers of all levels. Exciting night dives can be arranged, and CDs with photos and a short movie are available on request.
  • Snorkeling: Nuarro Bay in Mozambique is a sea life paradise with beautiful coral reefs within a short swim from the beach.
  • Sea kayaking: Guests have the opportunity to visit pristine beaches, mangroves and majestic rock formations using a kayak. Delicious picnic deliveries can be arranged.
  • Whale Watching: Humpback whales visit Mozambique's Nuarro Bay from July to December every year. Guests can observe the whales up close from a boat.
  • Dhow sailing: The Dhow is a traditional boat used by locals. The Nuarro team arranges beautiful boat trips on this elegant wooden boat.
Mountain biking

Guests can make use of the mountain bikes available to explore the surrounding peninsula including the old lighthouse and the close by village.

Cultural village tours

From the Lodge, guests can easily visit the local village and interact with the local people.

The chalets at the Nuarro Lodge in Mozambique were constructed with natural materials by the local people. These unique chalets are built on the dunes and each chalet offers magnificent sea views. Set in the bush, each chalet provides complete privacy and tranquility. The twelve luxury chalets nestle along the beachfront and some of the chalets offer an optional twin bed upstairs for families.

Directions

Road directions to the Nuarro Lodge in Mozambique, Southern Africa:

- Drive from Nampula in a direction to Nacala.
- 10 km before Nacala drives to the left direction Nacala Velha.
- In Nacala Velha after large white (governor) house follow the road to the left (500 M later the dirt road is starting).
- This is the Memba road, follow this road (25/30 km) until the village 7th of Abril here go right direction Baixo de Pinda.
- Follow this road (you are going through Geba) until the borehole of Matemane (round the 30 km)
At this borehole make a left (not straight because that's the road to Baixo do Pinda)
Here you see a Nuarro sign now you are on the road to Nuarro follow this road you will pass another borehole after borehole follows the road to the right until the Nuarro sign here go right.
- You can park the car by the large Baobab tree before the main entrance of the lodge.
- The coordinates are: S14 12.21 and E 040 40.72
