The Tlou Restaurant

Named after the indigenous Sotho Tlou tribe, this restaurant is beautifully decorated in remembrance of this classical time. With two enormous fireplaces, which add to the lovely warm and ambiance of this resort, guests can enjoy a la carte dining, buffets, comfort food, trout and on very special occasions, a carvery. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the lovely Tlou Restaurant.

Coffee Bean Coffee Shop

The Coffee Bean Coffee Shop offers light snacks and exotic coffee based refreshments.  With an exquisite wrap-around balcony, lovely views over the swimming pool and picturesque views over the Valley can be enjoyed while dining freshly baked cakes together with a cup of lovely freshly ground coffee. Seating is available outside for those really hot days and indoors for the slightly chilly days. Together with an inviting fireplace and lounge, there is a upright piano and the musical guests can take the opportunity to enjoy playing some of their favorite pieces of music.

The Phoenix & The Firemans Pub

This classic country pub is wonderfully decorated in trinkets and appurtenances from the rich heritage.  Mouthwatering traditional pub lunches and evening snacks may be enjoyed in front of an impressive fireplace. Two flat screen TV's area available for the sports lovers and a magnificent cedar wood counter top is a great place where the conversations are shared with locals and travelers, over their favorite beverage.

Fishing

The Magoebaskloof region in Limpopo is known for some of the best fly fishing in South Africa. The Haenertsburg Trout Association is known to be the oldest fly fishing club, with the association managing and protecting large stretches of the waters in these region.  Fishing can be arranged through the Magoebaskloof Hotel or through the local fishing shop Haenertsburg. Keep an eye out for crocodiles and hippos.

Canopy Tours

This exciting activity is offered approximately 10km from the Hotel and is one for the adrenaline seekers. Traveling over waterfalls, rivers and forest floors these "foefie" cable slides will take you through the incredible indigenous forest and ancient mountain cliffs. Mountain Biking

A mountain biking paradise, hosting a variety of mountain biking events throughout the year, treat your family to this wonderful strength building activity.  Permits are required and may be obtained from the Magoebaskloof Hotel, and if you require a mountain bike, they are also available for rent.

Trails include:

  • Ebenezer Dan or Standford Lake - 5.3km - suitable for young children
  • Cheerio or Sequoia - 5km - passing through avocado orchards and pine plantations this easy to travel route is suitable for families
  • Magoebaskloof adventures - 10km - for the experienced rider with 5km being a technical single track, steep climbs, and steep descents
  • Cheerio / Sequoia / Bramasole / Standfor Lake College - 25km - preferred by the experienced mountain bikers, and may be extended to 55km. Spectacular view of the entire area, dams, gardens, natural forests and streams.
