Hartford House Restaurant
Dinner
Dinners at the elegant Hartford House, KwaZulu-Natal, is a spectacular five course affair, served in candlelit splendor, either in the historic dining room or on the rambling colonial veranda. Saturdays are accompanied by the best traditional dance display in Africa.
Breakfast
Breakfasts are celebrations of the creative spirit, individual masterpieces inspired by the freshest local produce. Authenticity and originality are hallmarks of everything the Hartford House represents.
Lunch
Lunch menus are purposely light and seasonal, providing a respite for the gap between breakfast and dinner. For eight consecutive years, the five star Hartford House in South Africa had “Platinum” emblazoned on their wine list.

Trout and bass fishing
Trout & Bass fishing at Hartford for trophy fish is very popular. Guides are on hand to help you master art of stalking trout.
Horse riding
Horse riding, guided on request, can be arranged for guests at the Hartford House. Hartford House is the only luxurious hotel on a world-class racehorse stud farm in the world. A personalised tour of Summerhill Stud includes the stallions of the Rulers of Dubai.
Trips
The Hartford House offers personalised trips to the famous Battlefields, the Drakensberg World Heritage Site, Giant's Castle, Lotheni, Injisuthi and Kamberg reserves, as well as the Weenen Game Reserve. These trips can be booked by prior arrangement.
Nature walks
Leisure walks on the extensive game conservancy can be enjoyed. Several rare wild animal and bird species inhabit this magnificent estate.
Swimming
The five star Hartford House in KwaZulu-Natal offers guests access to their outdoor swimming pool which is surrounded by the estate's beautiful garden. Sun lounge chairs and sun umbrellas invite for a relaxing afternoon by the pool.
Tennis
Guests have access to the tennis court at Hartford House and guests are encouraged to bring their own rackets.

The St Paul's suite is a Verandah Suite named after the St Paul's Cathedral. The horse St Pauls was the smallest horse ever to win the Durban July. He was the property of Mr Pat Goss, the grandfather of the current owners of Hartford House.
