Wining and Dining at Azura

At this Resort, dining is all part of the beach getaway experience, from breakfast at the water’s edge, to a picnic on the beach, to dining beneath the stars, every moment will become magical. The menu is based on what is fresh and available, with a focus on light meals and lots of fresh fish and seafood. Guests can request a picnic lunch if they are planning to take a day activity or prefer to lounge by the swimming pool. For dinner, guests have the opportunity to have a candlelit meal on the beach or even a romantic private beach dinners at the villa.

The Azura Boutique Island Retreat in Mozambique offers different African Spa treatments at the beautiful clifftop spa. Guests are invited to lie back and relax to the calming sounds of the ocean lapping against the headland cliffs while indulging in one of Azura's signature treatments. 

The Spa only uses natural ingredients which are sourced from the wilds of Africa. Guests can either have these treatments in the comfort of their villa or on the deck.

Mozambique's beautiful Quilalea Island is one of the Southernmost islands in the pristine Quirimbas Archipelago, and is located 31miles North of Pemba. The island is home to over 50 different bird species which include; starling, storks and sun birds to name but a few.

Children Policy
  • Children are welcome at the Azura on Quilalea Island in Mozambique, but guest privacy must be respected.  Sunrise Villas one and two are best suited for families, as well as Sunset Villas 6 and 7.  

    Please note that Villa Quilalea at Azura is not suitable for young children, given its cliff-top location.

Directions

Guests may arrive at this Private Island in Mozambique via Pemba or via Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania.

The town of Pemba can be accessed from South Africa with flights from:
OR Tambo on SA Airlink and LAM
Tanzania with flights on LAM from Dar es Salaam
Kenya with flights on LAM from Nairobi

From Mozambiques Pemba Airport, there is a light aircraft flight to Quirimba Island, a short scenic drive across the coconut plantation, followed by a 15 minute boat ride to Quilalea private island. There is deep water access to the main beach at Quilalea, but a walk through water is needed at Quirimba Island except at high tide.

Private Charter flights are available to Pemba, Mozambique, through Elite Jet in Johannesburg at reasonable rates. Aircraft seat 8-19 pax. Quirimba Island has a 1000m grass runway which is in excellent condition year round.
