When Charles Brand, his wife Beth and parents Chippy and Cynthia first opened the doors of the five star Cape Grace Hotel at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa, in December 1996, their vision was of a hotel that felt more like a good friend's home. The décor and environment needed to reflect its five star aspirations but most importantly, staff needed to relate to guests as personal hosts with warmth and enthusiasm.

Twelve years later and now owned by Meikles Limited, the famous luxury Cape Grace Hotel remains true to its operating philosophy of genuine hospitality and a desire to exceed guests' expectations. Meikles Limited is synonymous with distinctive and luxurious hotel experiences, owning two other independently managed, award-winning hotels in Africa, each with its own distinctive brand identities, namely Meikles Harare and the Victoria Falls Hotel.  All members of the Leading Small Hotels of the World are fully-fledged members of the Leading Hotels of the World exclusive community.
