Interactive Drumming Session, Pilanesberg Overview

Join in one of the oldest forms of communication known to man, enjoy the interactive rhythms of Africa by taking part in a drum circle and learn to play the Djembe Drum.

Dancing, singing and rhythms - Music is the central core around which African communities teamwork.

Drums have been played in Africa for thousands of years. So what better way of exposing yourself to the luxurious enjoyment and fulfilling experience of African drumming, than by taking a handcrafted Djembe drum to play.

The various sessions are designed and led by a team of dynamic young facilitators who emphasise building spirit and teamwork in the group. The event is started with a cacophonous rumble to show the guests the chaotic possibilities of not working together. Only then do we build them level by level, until they are beating out thunderous African rhythms as a group.

Another aspect of the performance is African singing, there is tremendous unifying power in getting the group as a whole to sing, but with a twist, we teach them tonal melodies as well as traditional African songs. The interactive drum experience is the perfect way to add dimension to your conference opening, breakaway time or bush braai (barbecue). The session lasts for about an hour and depending on the group size it will be facilitated by between two and five percussionists.
