Deep Sea Fishing North Coast KwaZulu-Natal Overview

Experience the thrill Deep Sea Fishing in Durban with a surf launch that takes you straight to fertile fishing grounds.

The boats are well maintained 19ft Ace Craft Monohulls, each powered by 2 X 90HP Yamaha Outboard Engines. The vessels are fitted with G.P.S & Fishfinders and top quality fishing equipment is supplied. We take a maximum of five anglers per boat, and no previous fishing experience is required.

We can offer shorter trips, ranging from 2 up to 7 hours, as little time is lost travelling. Fly-fishing & drop shot is becoming popular, and for these specific types of fishing, you need to bring along your equipment and charter the boat exclusively. On the 3 and 4-hour trips, due to their popularity, we can offer per person rates & group you together with other keen anglers.

The Fish: Deep Sea Fishing North Coast

We offer game, reef & shark fishing and you can keep your catch. During the summer months, December to May, we have a wide variety of gamefish in our waters. The most abundant species are King mackerel (Cuda), Queen mackerel (natal snoek), Dorado (Dolphinfish), Kingfish, Queenfish, Sailfish, Marlin and Tuna. We catch three different types of Tuna in our area, namely Yellow Fin, East Coast (Kawakawa) and Sada Sada. We use both live baits and lures to catch most of these fish.

In the winter months, June to November, we still get Tuna and Queen mackerel, but the primary target is Garrick. These are dominant fighting game fish caught using live bait just behind the waves.

All year round we have good catches of reef fish like Rock cod, salmon and reds (Slingers & Soldiers). When fishing for sharks, we tend to target the smaller Grey sharks as these provide the most excitement for anglers due to their size. They are generally between 8kg and 50kg so give a good fight. Please note all sharks are released.

On all the other length trips you book the boat for yourself / group. Rods, tackle and bait, are supplied, and you can keep your catch at no additional charge.
