The peaceful setting of the Sani Valley Nature Lodge in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, makes for a magnificent country getaway. It is set at the side of the privately owned lake overlooking the Drakensberg mountain range featuring secluded chalet accommodation with zebras, eland and wildlife on your doorstep.
The private chalets are individually decorated, influenced by the local vicinity and offer stunning views of the changing scenery, centred around the reflections upon the lake and the vistas of the beautiful mountains. Each chalet offers a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy lounge area with a fireplace. The glass sliding doors lead onto a wooden deck or patio. Please ask about the spa baths available in some of the units.
Sani Valley Nature Lodges offer a variety of activities including fishing in the lake which is home to many trout and species of fish, cycling, hiking, horseriding (book at the site office) and enjoy family fun on the paddle boats and canoes available. Visit the raptor centre followed by participating in a 4x4 experience.
A gift shop and a children's play area is there for you to use too. Relaxing massages and beauty treatments are available on request. The rock art, that tells the stories of the San people, can be found along many of the local uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park hiking trails.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) describes the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park a World Heritage Site of “exceptional natural beauty" making it the ideal space for anyone who loves being outside in nature due to "its soaring basaltic buttresses, incisive dramatic cutbacks, and golden sandstone ramparts".
