The Boschendal Farm Cottages is on one of the Cape’s most prestigious and well-known wine farms, with a tale dating back to 1684.

The estate was granted by Simon van der Stel to the French Huguenot, Jean le Long. In 1977, the farmstead & winery was opened to the public emerging as the icon it is today.

In the centre of the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch Valley, Boschendal Farm Cottages enjoy scenic views of the surrounding Simonsberg mountain range and is a perfect base from which to explore both Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, situated only 16 minutes away by car.

Boschendal Guests wishing to stay at the farm will have the luxury of enjoying the access to the entire estate and its selection of unusual activities on offer which includes the use of trails through the neighbouring mountains for cycling and walking.

Swimming in the surrounding dams, which have pristine mountain water, seems to invigorate the soul. Guided tours through the vineyards and Cellar accompanied by a wine tasting session is a must-do. Trout fishing is also available in one of the dams above the vineyards. The new splash play area is designed to keep kids entertained, under supervision, giving parents some well-deserved time off.

Besides the activities, the essence of the farm is their eat, drink and relax philosophy. Prize-winning Boschendal wines and bio foods can be enjoyed either in the restaurant or, in summer, as a picnic in the serenity of the gardens.
