The Three Tree Hill Lodge Bergville is a  four-star, family-run country retreat serves as a suitable halfway stop between Johannesburg and Durban; it is situated only 27 kilometres away from the N3 highway making it easily accessible.

The Drakensberg retreat offers three different accommodation options which consist of Standard Rooms, Family Suites and the standalone Churchills Villa. The Family Suite features a master bedroom with a fireplace and two walk-in closets; a folding door leads onto the verandah.

The kid's bedroom features a set of bunk beds and a single bed and can accommodate three children under the age of 12. Complete with toys and books, the room's verandah leads to the outdoor sandpit.

Churchills is a stand-alone, cottage style villa offering guests a spacious, open plan lounge and kitchen. Through the double glass doors, beautiful views of the Spioenkop Game Reserve can be admired.

The villa's deck overlooks the private swimming pool, the braai and the entertainment area below. The living area features a modern kitchen which is ideal for guests who wish to prepare their meals. Suitable for honeymooners as well as families with teenagers or two couples travelling together, this cottage is not appropriate for children under eight years of age due to its high balustrade.

Designed with a colonial feel, the comfortable rooms provide convenient amenities and features including coffee and tea making facilities, overhead fans and wall panel heaters. From the private decks, beautiful vistas of Spioenkop and the wildlife-rich valley below can be admired. One might even be able to see a Giraffe or a wandering Rhino.

The Three Tree Hill swimming pool area and the viewing deck offers guests a welcoming place for relaxation. The central living area features an open-plan design, with doors leading onto the outside verandah. During the colder winter months, an open log fire and coal stove offer a warm and cosy atmosphere.

Separated from the lounge by a fireplace, the dining room offers a communal table where guests enjoy the most delicious meals. Buffet breakfasts, as well as hearty lunches, are served outside on the viewing deck or the verandah. The dinners are offered as a set menu with three courses followed by cognac or port in front of the fireplace or outside under the bright, star-studded sky.

Located on 1,300ha of scenic foothills in the Drakensberg, nature walks on the estate invite for beautiful walks and hikes. The marked trails are between 2 - 6 km in length. With its abundance of birdlife, visitors have the chance to see, amongst others, the Cape Vultures, White-bellied buzzards, Lanner Falcons, Buff Streaked Chats and Fairy Flycatchers which reside here.

Mountain bikes are available to guests. Biking trails are on the property while more challenging trails can be found nearby. Exciting walking safaris with Rhino tracking can be arranged in the neighbouring Spioenkop Game Reserve.

Three Tree Lodge offers ideal access to Royal Natal National Park, to Cathedral Peak and to Champagne Valley which lies in the Northern Drakensberg.
