Lekkerwater Beach Lodge, De Hoop Nature Reserve itself offers a homely and comfortable beach experience in a magical setting. Each of the seven rooms is located right on a six-kilometre stretch of the picture-perfect private beach, complete with rock pools and fish life.
Lekkerwater Lodge offers two, three and four-night stays with arrivals every second day. Please inquire with us about the set arrival and departure dates. A minimum night stay of 2 nights is required throughout the year.
The lodge is located in the De Hoop Nature Reserve, just off the South African Garden Route. It is one of the most pristine coastal reserves in Africa, home to extraordinary beauty, glorious seclusion. It is famous for some of the best whale watching in the world between July to November every year when the Southern Right whales and their offspring flock here in their hundreds from Antarctica. It’s not simply whales either and you’ll also spot sizeable pods of dolphins and all sorts of marine life in this, the ultimate, land-based marine safari.
Lekkerwater various activities from bird-watching, whale spotting, rock pool exploring, and numerous walks around the reserve amongst fynbos to be discovered and a rare vulture breeding colony to be spotted are all options alongside talks with guides which can be arranged.
