Lairds Lodge Country Estate is nestled between the charming coastal towns of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, offering a serene escape along South Africa’s renowned Garden Route. Set on a tranquil 24-acre estate, our Cape Dutch-style homestead welcomes guests with traditional South African warmth and hospitality.

Surrounded by manicured gardens, two sparkling pools, and open country views, Lairds Lodge is the ideal Gourmet Retreat. Since opening, we’ve become known for our personalised service, attention to detail, and warm, loyal staff - some of whom have been part of the Lairds family for over 25 years.

Choose from the range of Standard, Deluxe, and Luxury en-suite rooms, each designed with comfort and character in mind. All rooms feature high ceilings, air conditioning, percale linen, flat-screen TVs, and private terraces leading into the gardens, perfect for quiet moments or a dip in the pool.

Dining at Lairds

Dining is a cherished ritual at Lairds Lodge. Each evening, guests are invited to enjoy a sociable three-course set menu, thoughtfully prepared by the chef. A full vegetarian alternative is always available, and dietary needs are happily catered for.

Meals are served in the elegant dining room, either at a shared 10 - 12 seater table for a communal experience, or at more intimate individual tables. For special occasions, enjoy a candlelit dinner in our atmospheric wine cellar.

To complete the experience, we pair local wines with every meal. Guests can also indulge in curated tastings - Riedel wine glasses, South African gin, whisky smokings, and more - all served in our cozy Brandy Lounge or the whimsical Monkey Bar, named after the playful monkey troops that frequent the treetops above.

A short drive in either direction brings you to the heart of the Garden Route. Plettenberg Bay - or "Plett" as the locals call it - offers boutique coffee shops, seafood restaurants, artisan markets, and panoramic ocean and mountain views.
