Fordoun Hotel and Spa is in the green pastures of a dairy farm, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands close to Pietermaritzburg.

The Fordoun hotel has lots of history that date back to the early 1800s however the original farm buildings that construct this Hotel have been adapted to suit today’s modern life.

Fordoun Hotel has won many awards and provides guests with the most upmarket services and facilities from giving top-class conferences, weddings and events to offering a superior dining experience in the restaurant. It caters for resident guests of the hotel as well as day visitors during the week at the Spa. The Skye restaurant is open to the visitors throughout the week and weekend.

There are 22 luxurious, individually appointed rooms. However, the hotel does not offer family rooms. Therefore, guests travelling with children may book two luxury rooms inter-leading with each other. The Skye Bistro is an excellent dining restaurant boasting beautiful log burning fires in the winter evenings to watching the sunset from the veranda over the rolling lawns; the Bistro is the perfect place to have a relaxing sumptuous meal.

There are farmhouse breakfasts and lighter lunches also on offer throughout the day. The restaurant designs their menu from fresh, local produce that is available at the time and offers a private wine collection from nearly 60 local wine estates, as well as imported French champagnes for those special occasions. It is open seven days a week. However, the Hotel does suggest that you pre-book any reservations.

The Fordoun conference centre caters for up to forty business delegates, with quality equipment on hand and all the resources and facilities of the spa and restaurant nearby. The spacious main conference room lends itself to use for numerous other events and functions and boasts high ceilings.
