Mr Thomas Earl Skaife purchased the Earl's Dyke Manor & Nature Reserve from the Cape Marine in 1911. This estate was sold in 1922 to Mr Friedrich Wilhelm Knack, who in 1928, demolished the house and built the current Camps Bay Manor House which was designed by William Grant.

The hotel in Camps Bay, Cape Town, is a historical 1928 Estate featuring the Earl's Dyke Manor and the Deck House next door. This luxury Boutique Hotel sits on the slopes of Lions Head and is a short walk away from the Camps Bay beach. The Owner’s Suite features a private balcony, a large dressing room and a lounge with endless views over the palm-fringed Camps Bay beach.
