The Blackwaters River Lodge is located on the outskirts of Knysna along South Africa's scenic Garden Route.

The Black Waters lodge is set in a clearing of indigenous forest with its own mashie golf course at the side of the Goukamma River.

The lodge is ideal for those who enjoy a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to get to it should you need to. At Blackwaters River Lodge you can canoe down the river to Buffels Bay beach and be met by staff who will bring you back in time for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Earth and Fire Restaurant.

The nine-hole Mashie Golf Course is ideal for the whole family and perfect for those wanting to refine their skills upon the greens. The energetic guests can play volleyball whilst the others enjoy a chilled game of croquet on the well-groomed lawns.

Lay back in the manicured gardens and listen for the sound of the fish-eagle; later walk along the edge of the Goukamma River to see if you can spot them hunting from the tops of the trees.

Enjoy a prepared picnic upon the river bank or enjoy time sitting upon your patio or balcony watching out for the hundred species of birds that have made this area home. Swim in the pool, or laze around its sides sipping cocktails as the sunsets. Enjoy a movie in your room with the DSTV provided.
