Tour itinerary: The Subtropical Africa Tour:
DAY 1: MTUBATUBA – VEYANE ZULU CULTURAL VILLAGE – iSimangaliso WETLAND PARK
Depart Durban, travelling north into the heart of KwaZulu Natal. Arrive at Mtubatuba by 11h30, where we meet our local guide. Change vehicles and transfer to Veyane Zulu Cultural Village, where we have the opportunity to learn more about the contemporary lifestyle of the local Zulu people. Participate in bead making, matt weaving, playing of local instruments and meet a sangoma (witch doctor).
Continue to iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site (previously known as The Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park). Enjoy a river cruise on the estuary and view prolific wetlands bird life, fish eagles, hippo and crocodiles (weather permitting). Afterwards, travel to your safari lodge for dinner under the African sky (weather permitting).

DAY 2: SAFARI – CENTENARY CENTRE AND MUSEUM
An early morning start for a full days game viewing in an open game viewing vehicle in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park renowned for its rhino conservation as well as home to the ‘Big Five’ plus an abundance of other animal species including zebra, giraffe, cheetah and wild dog. Breakfast in the bush (breakfast packs provided).
We will also visit the reserves renowned Centenary Centre and Museum that depicts the history of live game capture and translocation of game, especially the white rhino that would no doubt be extinct without the creation of this reserve. On occasion, there will be an opportunity for a close up encounter with an animal or two in the capture bomas (enclosures), awaiting their move to other reserves. Bonamanzi Game Lodge or similar - dinner, bed and breakfast (packs) basis + full day game viewing activities
DAY 3: SAFARI - DURBAN
Early wake-up for a final game drive in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. Return to the lodge in time to check out and connect to the transfer vehicle back to Durban. Drop off at your hotel at about 16h00.
