PACKAGE:
Magalies Balloon Tour
Enjoy the excitement of a Hot air balloon flight at sunrise over the scenic Magaliesburg countryside in South Africa. Champagne and a full English breakfast are served after the flight at selected country lodges. Embark on this adventure for an unforgettable experience.
The small village of Magaliesburg lies at the heart of a beautiful region of mountains, valleys, rivers and indigenous woodland which is home to a variety of birds.
Take a leisurely drive westward from the bustle of Johannesburg or Pretoria and within an hour the traveller will discover a tranquil and enchanting place, namely Magaliesburg. But it is not all natural bushveld. It is here where one finds a wealth of hospitality: country guest houses, hotels, lodges, stores, art and craft studios, working farms, horse and mountain bike trails and much more.
Bill Harrop's Original Balloon Safaris are a family run business operated by Bill and Mary Harrop which has been operating as a legally licensed Balloon Air Transport Service in South Africa since 1981. Only qualified and experienced pilots are employed and over four-thousand very happy passengers a year are testimony to their professional attitude in entertaining guests to one of the most memorably enjoyable experiences of your life. This Hot Air Balloon Safari company in South Africa runs a fleet of six large hot air balloons, the smallest of which can carry up to 8 passengers and the largest up to 18.
Hot coffee and tea are served at sun-rise whilst the crew prepares the balloons for the flight. The duration of the flight is about one hour dependent on conditions. Champagne is served during the flight or on landing. The mini bus transfers guests then back to the country base for a freshly cooked farm-style champagne breakfast and the presentation of 'Citations for Bravery'.
