From 11 June 2010 to 11 July 2010 the Soccer World Cup will be held in South Africa. The Soccer World Cup has grown from its beginning in 1930 to become one of the greatest sporting events in the world. Well over a billion people are expected to follow the month long soccer tournament between the world's top 32 (possibly 36 in 2010) soccer playing nations.

Although most of the Hotel, Guest House and Game Lodge accommodation is contracted to the governing bodies of the World Cup Soccer 2010, it is with great endeavour that we would like and try to assist with accommodation bookings wherever possible.

3. World Cup Soccer Stadiums in South Africa
Five of South Africa's soccer stadiums undergo renovations for the Soccer World Cup in 2010 which are Soccer City and Ellis Park in Johannesburg, Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and the Free State Stadium which is located in Bloemfontein.
A new soccer stadium is built in the Nelson Mandela Bay in Port Elizabeth. The Peter Mokaba Soccer Stadium in Polokwane, which is located in South Africa's Limpopo Province, as well as the King Senzangakhona Stadium in Durban are rebuilt.
The Kings Park Soccer Stadium and the Green Point Soccer Stadium in Cape Town will become completely new multi-sport facilities. The Green Point Soccer Stadium will have a retractable dome to protect fans and players from the Cape's unpredictable winter weather.

The city of Johannesburg will have two stadiums for the Soccer World Cup 2010. Johannesburg will be home to the opening soccer match, one semi final and the final match of the soccer tournament.
Soccer City, which is also known as the FNB Stadium, is the jewel in South Africa's crown, built in 1987 and with a capacity of 94,700 it is sure to offer a great atmosphere. For the Soccer World Cup 2010 in South Africa, the upper tier will be extended around the stadium, an encircling roof will be constructed, new changing room facilities will be developed and new floodlights will be installed.

It is here at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg where the 1995 Rugby World Cup final between South Africa and New Zealand was played.

For the 2010 World Cup, a second tier was added to the main grandstand at the Free State Stadium Bloemfontein, which increased the seating capacity to 48,000. New turnstiles were erected, the floodlights upgraded, electronic scoreboards installed and the sound system was revamped.

The Mbombela Stadium is a newly constructed stadium located just seven kilometres north of Nelspruit in South Africa's beautiful Mpumalanga Province. The Mbombela Stadium Nelspruit has been designed to be used after the World Cup Soccer Tournament in 2010 as an adaptable, relevant multi-sport, entertainment and exhibition venue.

Mbombela Stadium has been proposed as for both the first and second round matches with a capacity of just over 40,000.
7. Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane, Limpopo Province, South Africa
The Peter Mokaba Stadium is located in Polokwane which was previously known as Pietersburg in South Africa's Limpopo province. This soccer stadium will be the first world class football venue in the soccer enthusiastic province of Limpopo. Four two tier stands bring the seating capacity to 46,000 - a massive increase on the old stadium, which comprises only a main stand and three grass banks.

The city of Port Elizabeth is now home to a brand new world-class stadium - the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. This five-tier Nelson Mandela Bay stadium has a seating capacity of 44,000 with an additional 4000 temporary seats available for the 2010 Football World Cup.

The Loftus Versfeld Stadium is located 5 km from the city centre of Tshwane / Pretoria in South Africa's Gauteng Province. Located in Rustenburg in the North West Province of South Africa, the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace was opened in 1999 and completely funded by the Royal Bafokeng community which is an administrative entity presiding over the world's richest platinum mines. The capacity of this soccer stadium was increased to 42,000 with the construction of two additional rows of seating on the second level. New electronic scoreboards, floodlights and a new public address system completed the requirements for it to host the first and second round matches of the 2010 World Soccer Cup in South Africa.
