Introducing Sesriem
Different routes lead to the Namib Naukluft Park especially to the magnificent dune fields of the Sossusvlei. From Windhoek, it is recommended to take the B1 up to Rehoboth and turn right into the C24 in the direction of Solitaire via the Spreetshoogte Pass. Behind the pass, turn left onto the C14 to the turn-off to Sesriem. Sesriem is located about 65 km from Sossusvlei, 1 hour's drive. On the last 4 km to the vlei, the road consists of very soft sands and can only be driven in a 4x4 or by foot.
Sesriem Restcamp
In Sesirem, one can find a very nice restcamp. The campsites are located in full shade under large camelthorn trees. In total, there are only 24 campsites. Sesriem restcamp in Namibia features a swimming pool, bar, petrol station and a small tuck shop. It is recommended to buy groceries in Windhoek. Guided morning and afternoon game drives are available.
