Introducing Prieska & Surrounds
Prieska is located on the banks of the Orange River in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Founded in 1878, Prieska is an agricultural and mining center with copper mines and rich deposits of tiger's eyes which are a semi-precious stone.
From the Old Fort in Prieska which is set on a hill, magnificent views of the Doringberg range and the Orange valley can be enjoyed. Places of interest in this region of the Northern Cape, South Africa, are the Ria Huisamen Aloe Garden where aloes and succulents can be admired and Die Bos Nature Reserve which is home to large numbers of meerkats and birds.
