The Mahajanga province of Madagascar stretches over an area of 150,023 km² with a population of about 2 million. Its capital is Mahajanga.
Except for the Fianarantsoa Province, the Mahajanga Province borders all of Madagascar's other provinces:
- Antsiranana to the north
- Toamasina to the east
- Antananarivo to the southeast
- Toliara to the southwest.

Mahajanga Province is divided into four regions which are Betsiboka, Boeny, Melaky and Sofia.
These four regions are subdivided into 20 districts:
