Introducing North East
The vast majority of the Northeast region of Namibia consists of a regular pattern of fossilised Kalahari dune ridges, which run almost exactly east-west, giving a distinctly stripy pattern to the satellite imagery. On the ground this pattern is created by dull dry farmland.
The main road transit from the hills of Grootfontein in the southeast to the river frontage at Rundu in the northeast connects Namibia with the Caprivi Strip and on to the Livingstone. Eastern areas include bushmanlands around Tsumkwe and the Khaudum national park.
