Le Pommier Restaurant is situated on a part of the historic Zorgvliet farm. Literally translated, Le Pommier means "The Apple Tree", as the farm used to be an apple farm.
Le Pommier Restaurant at the Zorgvliet Vineyard Hotel & Spa has a well-earned reputation for fine food and friendly service. Le Pommier menu is best described as a medley of traditional South African dishes with a definite gourmet flavour inspired by French Huguenots.

The original Manor House underwent a complete transformation when the farm was bought in 2002. Today the building, which dates back to 1692, is home to the Zorgvliet Restaurant and it once again boasts a thatch roof to recapture the romantic facade of years gone by. The original homestead was saved from complete decay and specific attention was given to the conservation of existing structures. The preservation of the ceilings, which were restored after exhaustive efforts, lends a unique atmosphere to the Zorgvliet Restaurant.
The previous time that the manor house was restored so meticulously was in 1860 after the house was virtually destroyed in a fire. The farm then belonged to Christiaan Frederik Beyers, father of the Boer General CF Beyers, who was born in the house in 1869 and later became the owner of the farm.
Guests are invited to enjoy traditional South African cooking with a modern interpretation. Local artist Robert Koch was commissioned to portray the breathtaking Banhoek Valley and the Zorgvliet house in a series of seven paintings. These paintings now form an integral part of the atmosphere and grace each of the three Dining rooms, namely the Banhoek Kitchen, the Beyers Room and the Bootmanskop Room, referring to the old Cape mariners. Each dining room at the Zorgvliet Restaurant can accommodate up to 25 guests. The Zorgvliet Restaurant in Stellenbosch is the ideal venue for a small intimate function or to celebrate a special occasion.

The Zorgvliet picnic area is a piece of heaven fallen from the sky where visitors can be lost in their dreams, inhale the fresh air of the Banhoek Valley and bask in the warm sunshine. Guests are welcome to bring a blanket and pick their spot under the shade of the Oak Trees and let the greenery of the Zorgvliet picnic area envelope them.
At the Zorgvliet picnic area, guests can enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards. The vineyards all have a different shade of green according to the types of cultivar. They are a perfect backdrop to the historic white washed Cape Dutch architecture of Zorgvliet Wine Estate's buildings.
Visitors may select the picnic basket of their choice from the picnic basket menu offered and experience a culinary journey that will excite their taste buds. The Zorgvliet picnic area is a resident of the Zorgvliet Wine Estate which produces award winning wines in a modern cellar equipped with state of the art technology. It is recommended to choose a Zorgvliet wine that pairs best with the selected picnic basket.
The Zorgvliet picnic area has ample space for your kids to run around and play games. Alternatively they can play on the jungle gym situated next to the Zorgvliet picnic area.

The Petit Verdot Meeting Room is ideal for small conferences and business meetings. It leads to an exquisite lawn area with awe-inspiring views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains.
