Relaxed and affordable with distinctive international flavours, the unique ZINZI Restaurant at the Tsala Treetop Lodge near Plettenberg Bay offers abundant and tasty menu options in a beautiful forest setting.
Apart from the African inspiration seen in the architecture and manifested in the use of the natural materials in the building, there is a global tribal inspiration drawn from the beautiful carving and metalwork of India and the patterns of the tribal Suzani textiles.
Subtle texture forms the canvas on the walls- with subtle contrasts brought in by the combination of the stone masonry, raw scratch plaster, rough neutral Earthcote and waxed plaster that has the feel of old smooth leather.
Handmade mud chandeliers preside in the interior– with the clay balls brought to life by the subtle sparkle of crystal. The fabrics- raw textured natural fibres - in combinations of wheat, stone, ebony and slate colours forms the foundation, hand printed Suzani fabrics, worn leather and soft suede, fun lizard print silver fabrics bring a sense of fun and “now” and luscious velvets a sense of opulence, with a shot of silver leather for luxury.
The furniture is all custom made - all slightly oversized as comfort is key at ZINZI. Whether sitting around a low table on ottomans and cushions sharing a meze platter or on a wingback chair at an antique table with turned legs and a pewter chandelier - absolute relaxation is guaranteed.
The tables provide for ample space, with fabulous dishes beautifully displayed during each course. Uniquely designed cutlery curiously hidden in a cloth bag and beautiful glassware add to the imaginative dining experience.
Ideal for sundowners at the bar, or for a relaxed dining experience, ZINZI embraces the spirit of honest cuisine and zesty ingredients with a choice selection of a la carte menu items.

Spa
At the Tsala Treetop Lodge, aromatherapy, massage and reflexology are available on request in the privacy of the suite.
Aromatherapy Massage
Combines the use of gentle, rhythmic massage with the therapeutic effects of Essential Oils. This is not a vigorous massage but rather a gentle treatment used for relaxation.
Holistic Massage
This treatment includes all those massage therapies (such as Swedish) that manipulate the soft tissues of the body. Since emotional, mental and physical tension is stored in the muscle tissue, skilled massage applied to the soft tissue encourages the muscular and nervous systems to relax and release tension from the system.
Hot Stone Massage
This treatment uses warmed black volcanic stones to release and drain trapped tissue fluids thereby encouraging circulation throughout the body. The pressure and gentle heat of the stones ease tight, contracted muscles introducing a deep sense of relaxation.
Reflexology
Is a method of stimulating the body’s healing mechanisms through the massage of certain reflex points on the feet. Working through the various reflex points, the reflexologist is able to draw up an accurate map of where there are blockages in energy flow, which is closely correlated to health problems. Massaging these reflex points, congested areas are unblocked and energy flow is restored enabling the process of healing to begin. This is an excellent therapy for those people who prefer not to have full body massages, but would still like to derive the same benefits.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu utilizes a combination of pressure and assisted-stretching techniques, some of which are common to other therapies, such as Massage, Physiotherapy, Acupressure and Lymphatic Drainage. The treatment stimulates the circulation and the flow of lymphatic fluid, releases toxins and deep seated tensions from the muscles, stimulates the hormonal system and the immune system, and acts on the autonomic nervous system, allowing deep relaxation and the ability to get in touch with ones own healing power. No oils are used during the massage thus you remain clothed.
Indian Head & Shoulder Massage
Is a treatment involving work on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. A variety of massage movements are used to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation and restore joint movement. Indian head massage is also used to aid the condition and health of the hair, particularly when combined with the use of natural organic oils. Indian head massage helps to reduce stress and fatigue, increase mental clarity, and relax and rejuvenate the receiver.
