The Shangri-La Country House nestles at the end of a row of magnificent Jacaranda trees in the Modimolle / Nylstroom area, just a 70-minute drive away from Pretoria.

Situated on a farm in the heart of the bushveld country in the magnificent Waterberg region of South Africa's Limpopo Province, the hotel offers its guests a tranquil and relaxing setting.

Waterfalls, tropical gardens and stone paths characterize the estate, which is home to this Hotel. With its 23 years of history, this country retreat near Modimolle offers an old and rustic charm in a modern-day setting. On the property, guests find a small and intimate wedding chapel, two restaurants, an impressive wine cellar, conference facilities, an outdoor swimming pool, and some of the other facilities to keep guests active during their stay.

The Shangri-La Hotel offers its guests a variety of accommodation options. Guests can choose between standard rooms, family rooms or the romantic presidential suite. The rooms all include the standard hotel amenities, an en-suite bathroom, as well as air conditioning. During their stay, guests experience a touch of elegance and the best of comfort.

The Country House offers three conference venues, namely the Boardroom, The Indaba, as well as the Mandala and Magogo Banquet Hall. The Boardroom is fairly large and can accommodate up to 90 delegates. The thatched roof conference venue is called the Indaba. The Indaba offers the perfect venue for workshops, seminars or dining functions. The Mandala and Magogo Banquet Hall is a large venue which can be split into two by stacking doors. This beautiful venue offers a large veranda, wooden floors, and spectacular chandeliers.

On offer to guests are two dining facilities, which are the Heritage Restaurant and the Bellows Restaurant. The Bellows Restaurant is where guests enjoy scrumptious breakfasts in the morning and light lunches on the sundeck in the afternoons. Bellows accommodates up to 100 guests and can be used for private gatherings.

The Shangri-La Heritage Restaurant is a more intimate venue that can accommodate 40 guests per seating. The restaurant has a Baroque theme to it and a la carte lunches and dinners can be enjoyed here. The Heritage Restaurant is great for private dinners or functions that require a small and intimate setting. Barry's Bar is situated right opposite the Heritage Restaurant and is a great place to grab a pre-dinner drink where guests can enjoy a selection of wines, cognacs and cocktails.
