Das im malerischen Hermanus gelegene Marine mit herrlichem Blick auf Walker Bay ist ein Bollwerk des Komforts und zeitgemäßen Stils und der perfekte Rückzugsort für stille Kontemplation. Das komplett renovierte Hotel im edwardianischen Kolonialstil der Jahrhundertwende macht seinem Namen The Marine alle Ehre, denn hier ist alles aufs Meer bezogen, von den Tischen im Sun Lounge bis hin zu den geräumigen, zeitgemäß eingerichteten Gästezimmern.
The Marine verfügt über 43 Gästezimmer und Suiten mit Blick auf die Walker Bay, den schönen Innenhof, die gepflegten Gärten und die Overberg Mountains. Jedes der gut ausgestatteten Gästequartiere mit eigenem Bad ist individuell gestaltet. Die preisgekrönte Cuisine im Marine verkörpert zwei sehr unterschiedliche Stilrichtungen.
The Seafood ist ein helles, neues Restaurant im modernen Stil, wo man vom Meer nur das sieht, was sich auf dem Teller befindet. Im Seafood findet man eine lebendige, ungzwungene Atmosphäre und beim Essen, das in der offenen Küche zubereitet wird, liegt die Betonung auf frischem Fisch.
Im stilvoll eingerichteten The Pavillion genießt man ausgezeichnetes Essen mit mediterraner und östlicher Note bei wunderbarem Meerblick in eher traditioneller Atmosphäre. Frischer Fisch wird natürlich auch hier serviert, und es gibt, wie auch im The Seafood, Weine aus der Region.
Die neue Sun Lounge ist mit ihrem kühnen, dramatischen Look unterhaltsam und bezaubernd. Im Konzept enthalten ist ein kleiner Bereich für das Seafood Express One Plate Cafe.

Six of the Luxury Rooms at The Marine Hotel & Spa in Hermanus provide sea views whilst one opens onto a mountain facing balcony / patio which overlooks the swimming pool and the other having a side sea view on the west wing.
Three of the sea-facing rooms have balconies and one is wheelchair friendly. All the bathrooms feature separate showers and the rooms are magnificently and uniquely decorated in superb fabrics from floral to heavy silks.

Four of the luxurious Suites at The Marine Hermanus 5 star hotel offer wonderful sea views, the other being a spacious side sea view suite.
Each suite has been traditionally, yet stylishly and individually decorated and provides a large lounge. Two of the suites are set on a split-level, one has a balcony and one a four poster bed.

The eight magnificently and individually decorated Premier Suites at The Marine Hotel feature varied views of the sea. The biggest of these suites features a large Georgian style bay window, and is on two levels, which includes a spacious seating area downstairs with picture windows overlooking Walker Bay. Two of The Marine's Premier Suites offer balconies, whilst five occupy a split-level and two have a working fireplace.

The Pavilion at The Marine Hotel in Hermanus is relaxed and informal, but with an understated elegance. The view of the sea is exceptional and adds another dimension to the dining experience. During the months of June to December diners can view the whales from their table.
The Pavilion at The Marine restaurant serves an array of the highest quality Classic European dishes highlighting the Overberg Region.
The Pavilion is open for dinner five nights a week, Tuesday through Saturday, open every morning for breakfast and closed for dinner during winter from mid April to mid August.
The magnificent wall and ceiling lamps in this elegant restaurant are the originals which once graced the Bathing Pavilion at Muizenberg.

Liz McGrath's inspiration for Seafood at The Marine came about after a chance visit to the seafood counter at Harrods in London. Seafood is a bright restaurant in the modern idiom.
The style is informal and busy, serving contemporary relaxed seafare, with the emphasis on the freshness of the fish from Walker Bay, great style and friendly service. The open kitchen, with its young talented chefs, provides diners with a close-up view of the frenetic activity.
The Seafood is modern yet has a relaxed feel to it. The floating glass wall panel with a wave design and beautiful lighting is a feature of The Seafood. The restaurant is warm, sophisticated, personalized and inviting. Subtle warm lighting, bold graphic pots, black and white photography, floating bulkhead, wave designed glass screen and glass sculpture all add up to a visual feast to pre-empt the culinary feast.
