For centuries, Lanzerac in Stellenbosch has been a true icon of South African Winelands. This graceful wine estate in South Africa has played host to untold numbers of Stellenbosch residents, as well as visitors from home and abroad, for more than 300 years.

Lanzerac’s recorded history began in 1692 when then Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel, granted a piece of land in the pristine Jonkershoek Valley to Isaac Schrijver.

Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc 2010
This full-bodied, well structured wine has prominent ripe tropical, green pepper and chalky flavours on the nose and mouth-filling pineapple and guava characters which follows through on to a well balanced clean and minerally palate.

Lanzerac Chardonnay 2009

The 2009 Chardonnay offers a complexity of flavours, including ripe citrus overlaid with traces of clove, ginger, butterscotch and vanilla. It is a full-bodied wine that can be enjoyed chilled.

Lanzerac Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

This Cabernet has inviting flavours of blackberry and youngberry with hints of cocoa, almond and cedar. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine with excellent balance on pallet and a lingering aftertaste.

Lanzerac Merlot 2008

The 2008 Merlot reflects a deep red colour with hints of terracotta. On the nose flavours of chocolate, dark berries, pencil shavings, slight cigar box and vanilla, plums and blackberry is prominent. On the palate the wine shows a well balanced tannin structure, rich body, with fruit - lingering aftertaste.

Lanzerac Pinotage 2009

The 2009 Pinotage possesses an excellent deep colour, with ripe berries and plums on the nose and palate with a good mouth-feel and lingering aftertaste. With five to ten years’ maturation it will start to acquire the velvet density and luxurious chocolate and caramel flavours of its very early Lanzerac predecessors.  The 2009 Pinotage is a full-bodied, complex wine with a beautiful fruit/wood balance and a good tannin structure that will allow it to age extremely well.

Lanzerac Rose 2010

The Lanzerac Rosé possesses a forthcoming nose with a full arrange of early summer fruit like sweet strawberries, youngberry and hints of cranberries. The palate is fresh, clean and not overpowering, but will linger with each sip.

Lanzerac Pionier Pinotage 2008

The Lanzerac Pionier Pinotage is a tribute to the first world's first bottled Pinotage - a 1959 Lanzerac Pinotage.  The 2008 Pionier posses an excellent deep colour, with typical varietal aromas like ripe, plumy red fruits on the nose. A big mouth-feel, complex pallet with earthy tones and a long and lingering aftertaste rounds of this wine. With five to ten years' maturation it will start to acquire the velvet density and luxurious chocolate and caramel flavours for which it’s predecessors is known.
