The nearby SAX Arena Conference Centre provides an additional conference venue to Irene’s team of wedding, exhibition, entertainment, conference and/or banquet venues. It joins the Irene Country Lodge Conference Centre and the Irene Farm Conference Centre in providing a unique, and entirely convenient location for all event requirements.

Situated next to Southdowns College and overlooking the Irene Dairy Farm, it takes mere minutes to get to SAX Arena from the N1, and only slightly longer from the R21 or R28, making this conference venue easily accessible from all areas of Pretoria and Johannesburg.

The SAX Arena Conference Centre near the Irene Country Lodge meaures 800 square meters including the stage and can seat up to 700 business delegates in a cinema style. 

Facilities at the SAX Arena Conference Centre include:

•  full liquor license
• satellite kitchen
• effective sound-proofing (with no noise restrictions)
• parking spaces for 600 cars
• back-up generator: there will never be power outages during a function

The venue hire of the SAX Arena includes:

• Use of the venue for duration of 8 hours (after hours and overtime hours are available on request)
• Tables and chairs set up in your desired arrangement
• All in-house equipment: state-of-the-art sound, lighting and data projector with a 7,5 x 4,5 m screen
• A qualified Audio and Visual technician specialized in our range of equipment will be present at your functions

Directions from the N1:

• Take the John Vorster offramp.
• Turn right if you’re coming from Johannesburg and left if from Pretoria.
• Drive straight along John Vorster Drive until you see the bright red-and-white lettering of SAX Arena.
• You’ll drive past Southdowns Shopping Centre on your way to the Arena.

Directions from OR Tambo Johannesburg International Airport:

• Take the R21 from OR Tambo Airport towards Pretoria.
• Take the M31 offramp onto Nellmapius Drive, Irene.
• At the stop street, turn left onto Nellmapius Drive.
• Carry on with Nellmapius Drive, under a bridge to a 4-way stop street.
• Go over the stop street and carry on towards a traffic circle.
• Go straight over this and the next traffic circle. Carry on until the next robots at the intersection of John Vorster and Nellmapius Drives.
• Turn left onto John Vorster Drive. Continue past Southdowns Shopping Centre until the traffic circle, where you will see the entrance to SAX Arena.
