The Hog Hollow Country Lodge enjoys a magnificent location near Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, overlooking the scenic and lush Matjies River Gorge. Built within the forest, this luxurious country retreat on the Garden Route provides a great escape from the city life where one can relax and enjoy the outdoors. The outdoor swimming pool offers beautiful views of the surrounding forest and provides comfortable sun loungers while the indoor reading room offers a quiet haven.
Set in the indigenous forest valley of the spectacular Tsitsikamma Mountains, this Country Lodge features private accommodation in sixteen suites. Bird watching enthusiasts can enjoy the Ficus lounge within the ancient fruit-laden tree and the areas prolific bird life, making this the perfect place to relax.
At the centre of the Main House is the large dining room table where guests plan their daily activities and excursions over a delicious breakfast and unwind in the evening around a candle-lit table with mouth watering gourmet delights. The outdoor boma provides a magnificent location for festive occasions.
Spread throughout the beautiful garden of the Lodge are the sixteen spacious suites. Reflecting earthy colours to match the natural surroundings, both king and twin beds are available. Handcrafted artefacts make for a welcoming decor, and a well-stocked mini bar and hi-fi with music are available in the rooms. The private wooden decks of each room invite for a relaxing time while listening to the beautiful sounds of a lush, forest valley humming with life.
Children of all ages are welcome to stay, and three double story suites are suitable for children aged 12 and under sharing a room with their parents. Babysitting, the first turn down with a glass of fresh milk, a Gingerbread man, children’s stories and a box of toys are available for children.
Due to the location of the Lodge on the edge of the Matjies River Gorge, therefore, are steep drops from balconies and decks.The family rooms at Hog Hollow do have specially designed terraces which are higher with vertical poles. The Hog Hollow Country Estate in South Africa features an unfenced swimming pool and unfenced dams.
The delicious farmhouse breakfasts are offered on the deck overlooking the mountains and forests, or near the fireplace on cooler days. A sumptuous breakfast buffet with lovely treats awaits guests.
In the Main House of the country, the estate is a large dining room table. Dinners at the Lodge usually start outside at the boma where guests can enjoy tasty little treats. As the day ends, the full splendour of the African stars shines down on the lodge's deck making for an excellent setting. Guests are then welcome to dine and wine in the romantic, candle-lit main house. Guests who wish to enjoy private dining, many lovely spots are available at the Hog Hollow Country House.

On crisp, clear mornings, farmhouse breakfasts are served on the deck overlooking the forest and mountains, or near the massive fireplace when it's cooler. Children are welcome at the Lodge, and there are three double-storey suites suitable for children aged 12 and under sharing with their parents.
