Hog Hollow Country Lodge Garden Route

Overlooking the Matjies River Gorge, the magnificent Hog Hollow Country Lodge is located near Plettenberg Bay along South Africa's scenic Garden Route.  The Hog Hollow Country Lodge provides three lounge areas to escape to with a book and provides the prefect retreat for relaxation in natural surroundings.

The pool lounge leads out onto cool blue waters where guests may find others lazing about on comfi-recliners. The reading room at the Hog Hollow Country Lodge offers a quiet haven and a leafy vista of the indigenous forest valley and Tsitsikama Mountains. Bird enthusiasts may head straight for the Ficus lounge where an ancient fruit-laden tree is a favourite with Plett's prolific bird community.

At the centre of the Main House is the famously large dining room table where guests can plan their daily activities over breakfast and unwind in the evening around a candle-lit table laden with gourmet delights.  The Boma at the Hog Hollow Country Lodge is a place for festive occasions and the day's end where guests can kick back on a pile of comfortable cushions, a fire crackling nearby, and their favourite night cap in hand.

The sixteen suites at the Hog Hollow Country Lodge are situated in the gardens surrounding the main house. King size and twin beds are available, the rooms reflect earthy colours.  Hand crafted artifacts, a well stocked mini bar and a hi-fi with some interesting music are available in the rooms.  Guests are welcome to sit out on the private wooden deck listening to the sounds of a garden humming with life, enveloped in the warmth of the African sun.

Children at the Hog Hollow Country Lodge

Children are welcome at the Hog Hollow Country Lodge in Plettenberg Bay and there are three double storey suites suitable for children aged 12 and under sharing with their parents.  The country retreat can organize baby-sitting, special turn downs each evening with a glass of fresh milk, a Gingerbread man, children’s stories and a whole box of toys and other interesting things.  Buckets and spades as well as body boards for those unforgettable family days at the beach are also available.
 
Hog Hollow Country Lodge is set on the edge of the Matjies River gorge and therefore it has a very steep landscape profile.  There are drop-off’s from the balconies and decks.   The family rooms do have specially designed balconies which are higher with vertical poles. Hog Hollow features unfenced dams and an unfenced swimming pool on the premises.

Hog Hollow is well known for its delectable food. On crisp clear mornings, farmhouse breakfasts are served on the boma deck overlooking the forest and mountains, or near the huge fireplace when it’s cooler.  A sumptuous buffet with all the little special treats awaits guests. 

At the centre of the Main House is the famously large dining room table.  The dinners are started out at the boma where tasty little treats are served.  It’s a festive occasion as the day ends and the full splendor of the African stars shine down on deck.  Guests are then invited to wine and dine in the candle-lit main house.  For guests who prefer private dining, there are lots of lovely little areas at the Hog Hollow Country House.
