Overview
The Bongani Mountain Lodge nestles within the 8000 hectare Mthethomusha Game Reserve which borders South Africa's Big Five Kruger National Park. Amongst many other animals, this game reserve is home to lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. Over 250 San rock art paintings can be seen in the Mthethomusha Game Reserve. It is the greatest concentration of rock art per square metre in the world.
The exclusive Bongani Mountain Lodge lies in a low-risk malaria area of South Africa due to the altitude of the Lodge. Guests may enjoy adventurous game drives through the untamed African bush whilst admiring magnificent vistas of the surrounding bushveld. Experienced game rangers and Swazi trackers lead game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles through the bush as well as interpretive bush walks. Guests staying at the Bongani Mountain Lodge are also welcome to visit the local communities and view ongoing empowerment initiatives, in addition to meeting the local sangoma (medicine man). Visitors are invited to explore the magic of the Mthethomusha Game Reserve and Africa’s abundant wildlife on exhilarating, twice-daily game-drives, interpretive bush walks, and guided San rock art walks.

Ten of the double-bedded rooms include a sleeper couch which is suitable for families travelling with children. One Suite is also available, consisting of 1 double and 1 twin-bedded room.

Early breakfast as well as lunch and breakfast packs can be arranged. An a la carte lunch menu is also available, which can be charged to the room. Mini bar facilities are available in the rooms, and can be stocked with beverages of personal preferences. The meal times may vary according to the length of the game drive.

Activities
The Bongani Mountain Lodge offers a morning game game drive which is planned to coincide with the best game viewing time in the morning. An afternoon game drive can be arranged at an additional cost. The game ranger meets guests and from there guests are shown to the vehicle. It is recommended to take sun cream, hats, binoculars and a camera along. Kruger National Park game drives and walking safaris can also be arranged.
Unfortunately no children under 7 are permitted on game drives. However, there are exclusive ‘Bumbles‘ kiddies game drives available on request to children between the ages of 4 - 6 years. This drive is approximately 1.5 hours long and a parent must be present.
Conferences / Events
The Bongani Mountain Lodge in the Mthethomusha Game Reserve on the southern border of the Kruger National Park offers a fully equipped, air conditioned conference room which is able to accommodate up to 60 delegates.
The Deck offers panoramic views and ample breakaway areas and is an inspirational and revitalising destination for productive strategy sessions, team building, bush adventures and board meetings. Business services available to delegates include facsimile and copying.

The Bongani Mountain Lodge is situated in a sub tropical area of South Africa which is home to a variety of mosquitoes that carry different strains of malaria. Although the Bongani Mountain Lodge is in a low risk area, it is the company’s sole and absolute responsibility to ensure that all guests, tour guides, drivers and the like consult with their doctor, to ensure that all necessary precautions against malaria are timeously taken.
There are no fences around the Bongani Mountain Lodge to prevent animals from wandering around at will. Uniformed security guards monitor animal activity around the lodge; however the lodge requests that guests exercise caution when walking around. The guards are available to walk guests to and from the room in the evenings.
Children over 2 years are welcome at the Bongani Mountain Lodge, however there are some restricted areas. No children under 16 are permitted at the View Deck and Pool due to safety reasons.
The Bongani Mountain Lodge will not be held responsible for any liabilities or accidents at the swimming pools. No children under the age of 16 are permitted near the Conference centre due to conferences taking place.

Location
From Johannesburg take the N4 towards Nelspruit, drive straight through Nelspruit towards Malelane/Komatipoort still on the N4.
About 30 km outside Nelspruit you will find an area with fruit vendors on the right-hand side. On the left is the \\\\\\\'Matsulu\\\\\\\' turn off, take this road.
Just after you have turned left, approximately 10 meters, there will be a sand road to your left with a sign for Bongani Mountain Lodge.
Take this road and head straight on this dirt road for +/- 7km and you will arrive at the Mthethomusha Game Reserve.
Sign in at the security gate and drive +- 1 km down to the parking lot and Welcome centre where someone will be there to meet you.
