Prince Harry in Cape Town en-route to the South Pole
Icy Expedition lies head for
Prince Harry, Dominic West and Alexander Skarsgård
Before heading to the South Pole where harsh weather conditions and temperatures of minus 45 degree Celsius await, the British team of “Walking With The Wounded” enjoyed a sunny and warm stop over at The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay, South Africa. “Walking With The Wounded” is a UK charity dedicated to retrain wounded soldiers for careers outside the military.
Prince Harry, the British actor Dominic West and Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård, who all participate in “Walking With The Wounded”, were among the injured who will be competing in the challenging 335 km icy trek on the South Pole which is described as the biggest modern-day expedition of its type.
Due to bad weather conditions on the South Pole, the teams were delayed in Cape Town allowing them to enjoy hikes up Table Mountain in South Africa’s warm summer weather. What better way to indulge in a tropical beach setting like that offered at the ocean facing Bay Hotel in Camps Bay from where magnificent views over the palm fringed, sandy beach can be enjoyed.
We wish all the participants in “Walking With The Wounded” the best of luck during their icy expedition in the Antarctica!
