New picnics and wine tasting at Spier
The Signature Picnic at Spier Wine Estate
Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in the Cape, and the new venue celebrates this heritage while offering guests an informative wine experience in a beautiful setting. Visit Spier for innovative food pairings with award-winning Spier wine. Spier has a new Winetasting Venue and Signature Picnics offering a change in the Spier Experience.
The new wine tasting venue (where the deli used to be) overlooks the popular Spier dam and picnic lawns and has stunning views of the Helderberg mountains. Combining contemporary décor with the heritage for which the farm is renowned, the newly redesigned building provides a new flavour and energy to the Spier Estate.
Picnics are now available from newly-created Eight to Go. Local, natural and organic produce is used wherever possible, and food grown on the Spier farm is preferred. Picnics need to be booked in advance, but if you find yourself at Spier spontaneously, you will be able to grab a sandwich or salad from Eight to Go and enjoy it with a bottle of wine on the banks of the Eerste River.

Spier Wine Harvest Festival
Spier’ 21 Gables, Creative Block and Signature ranges will be on offer when you join Frans and his winemaking team in celebrating the annual grape harvest at Spier. At the event their will be Stalls offering delectable treats that will be set up on the lawns in front of our new wine tasting venue. The winemaking team will lead the charge in the annual grape stomping challenge to the beats of the various bands that play throughout the day.
The festival is from 10h00 – 16h00 on Saturday, 25 February 2012
Price: R70, which includes:
A wine glass and five tickets that can be used either for wine tastings or children’s games.
Tickets can only be purchased on the day.
