Chef Reuben Riffel shares stages with Cape Winelands Chef Gregory Czarnecki
Chef Reuben Riffel, the highly acclaimed chef at Reuben’s One&Only Cape Town Resort, South Africa, launches his ‘Reuben Invites’ series on Wednesday, 11 June 2014 with a stellar collaborative evening in the company of Chef Gregory Czarnecki of The Restaurant at Waterkloof Wine Estate. The evening begins with a tasting of Waterkloof’s wines in One&Only Cape Town’s Vista Bar & Lounge before guests move through to Reuben’s restaurant to feast on a superb 4-course menu prepared jointly by Reuben and Gregory.
Listen to them explain their culinary roots and influences and enjoy the tales and anecdotes of these top chefs. A judge on the Master Chef South Africa Series 3 panel, owner of four (4) successful restaurants and author of three (3) bestseller cook books, Reuben is respected by all within the local culinary scene.
French chef Gregory Czarnecki from The Restaurant at the spectacular Waterkloof Wine Estate in Somerset West is inventive, inquisitive and innovative. He specialises in home-grown or reared produce utilising eggs, vegetables and free-range meat from the bio-dynamically-run estate to create playful dishes which are a joy to behold and a delight to eat. The three different ranges of Waterkloof wines offer a myriad of choices, so you are sure to find your perfect pairing here.
The evening is priced at R 345.00 per person for the 4-course dinner, including the pre-dinner wine tasting and canapés and excluding any beverages with the meal. Gregory will suggest wines to be paired with each dish, although this is not included in the price, allowing you the freedom to select your favourite wines to accompany each gastronomic dish.
