OFF THE HOOK: Two Oceans Sport Fishing Charters
Fantastic Deep Sea Fishing with Dave in
Cape Town, South Africa
” In September, we have been enjoying some great inshore yellowtail action at Dassen Island fishing onboard Addiction. This fishing continued right up to end September beginning October when the tuna arrives. So if you enjoy spinning for surface feeding yellowtail on light tackle, drop me a mail and lets see if we can out a trip together.” states Dave who operates the successful Two Oceans Deep Sea Fishing Charter Company in Hout Bay, South Africa.
TUNA SEASON STARTING
It is finally tuna fishing time again. Yellowfin and longfin tuna start arriving in out waters from late September/early October and the thick of the season runs from mid October through to late December with good catches still often made into January.
Last years November/December season was truly exceptional with quality trophy yellowfin being the norm rather than the exception. Two Oceans landed three 100kg yellowfin tuna over the season and had at least 15 in the 90 kg class, one or two just under the magic 100kg mark. We are hoping that this season will be the same pattern with some very large yellowfin. Two Oceans also offer inshore yellowtail and snoek fishing as well as fly fishing, spear fishing and pelagic birding.
Tuna Derby 2013 rapidly approaching!
Two Oceans Sport Fishing came out trumps at the November 2012 tuna derby with top honours comfortably winning the tournament with a 110kg yellowfin tuna and just to make sure Dave also slotted in for second place as well with a 102.3 kg yellowfin tuna.
The 110kg yellowfin was the biggest every recorded in the competition as well as the second largest offically weighed yellowfin ever taken on rod and reel in South Africa! Read more. This years competition is fast approaching – we hope it will deliver some great catches .
