Hollywood Stars enjoying their stay in Cape Town

The Hollywood cast of the movie “The Giver” seem to be enjoying their stay in Cape Town, South Africa, sipping wine, tweeting and partying to reggae music between film shoots. The internationally famous actress Meryl Streep loved the local white wine while Jeff Bridges was seen getting his groove on at a reggae bash in Cape Town. Katie Holmes, ex wife of Tom Cruise, put fans into an exciting frenzy by posting her first tweets from here.
Katie Holmes, who joined the social network Twitter during her stay in Cape Town, uploaded a picture of herself with singer Taylor Swift as well as actor Bridges, and her co-stars in “The Giver”. Katie’s second post on Twitter stated: “So happy to be on Twitter!!!!!! Sending first tweets from South Africa!!!!!”
Suri, Katie’s daughter who is now seven years old, joined her mother on an exciting game drive in the Karoo last week. The Aquila Private Game Reserve hosted the celebrity mother and child in style to enjoy a thrilling safari through the African bush.
Veteran actress Meryl Streep was pampered in luxury while sipping crisp Viognier and admiring the views over the yacht basin adjacent to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Meryl Streep is staying at the five star Cape Grace Hotel. Staff said the movie star, who famously portrayed Margaret Thatcher in the movie “The Iron Lady”, mostly kept to herself. She was treated to a private VIP tasting of Calais Klein Valley wines at the Cape Grace Hotel and was apparently particularly taken with a limited-edition Viognier.
Actor Jeff Bridges, who played The Dude in “The Big Lebowski”, joined a party in Cape Town’s vibey and bohemian suburb of Observatory. Jeff danced to the local reggae band “The Rudimentals” at the Trenchtown Club. The owner of this club, Anthony Hendricks, mentioned that 600 people – including Bridges – enjoyed the party. “Ja, the bar staff recognised Jeff. It was hecticly busy. It was a moerse party (sic)!”
Shooting for the movie “The Giver”, which is based on the 1993 dystopian teen novel by Lois Lowry, started already mid October. About 300 South African extras will be featured in this movie directed by Phillip Noyce.
