The Garden Route which is situated in the picturesque Western Cape of South Africa has been named the 2014 Golf Destination of the Year for Africa and the Gulf States by the global trade association of the golf tourism industry, IAGTO.
Through the IAGTO Awards even more of the world’s 50 million-strong golfing community will now be informed about what is on offer in this beautiful part of South Africa, which offers so much in terms of tourism including unique land, mountain and sea experiences.
With 14 excellent golf clubs, there is not only a wealth of highly acclaimed golf courses including Pezula, Oubaai, Fancourt, and Simola, but the Garden Route is at the same time a great holiday destination featuring many interesting attractions such as the Ostrich Farms, the Knysna Elephant Park, Monkeyland, Game Reserves as well as the Eden of Birds and others.
